Amir Shariat

Amir Shariat has spent more than two decades in public safety. After working for nearly 14 years as an Emergency Medical Technician embedded in fire departments and on ambulances, he has spent the last 7 years working in law enforcement. As a civilian, Amir is responsible for overseeing police body worn cameras and digital evidence management systems. Amir also has an extensive background in photography and media production with an emphasis on documentary and short form filmmaking. Amir is the leader of Libertiva’s audio-visual and technology team, and is a Libertiva facilitator and curricula advisor.  

Amir identifies as Persian-American and Muslim. After spending part of his childhood in the Bay Area, Amir lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and attended the International School of Kuala Lumpur. Having this opportunity to share close bonds and friendships with students from dozens of different countries helped to shape his views on culture and diversity.
