Nicole Prieto Macias

Nicole Prieto Macias is an experienced Communications and Broadcast Production Specialist with a history of working with non-profit and community organizations. Coming from an immigrant Mexican American family and being a first-generation college graduate, Nicole has a strong belief in social equity through education and empowerment, as well as a passion for creating cultural understanding through community connections.
A Redwood City native, Nicole previously worked as a Recreation Leader for the City of Redwood City and then as a Communications and Operations Specialist for Redwood City Together. As Communications and Operations Specialist for Redwood City Together, Nicole served as a link for cross-sector partnerships and programs that focus on serving under-served areas of her community. Wanting to expand her work experience to a global level and further learn through multicultural perspectives, Nicole studied abroad in South Korea and a few years after graduating returned to live in South Korea. Thriving in multicultural settings, Nicole currently serves as a Global Business Development Specialist at Seoul National University’s Global R&DB Center where she supports collaborative Smart City development education projects with international partners. She also supports international and local graduate students of Seoul National University who center their studies on Smart City policies by leading professional development workshops and advising on Smart City related start-ups.
Keeping connections to her home in the Bay Area and DEI values being a key driver in her work, Nicole continues working remotely as a project and administrative assistant with Libertiva from South Korea.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Communication Studies from Sonoma State University. She is certified for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She has multilingual skills with native fluency in Spanish and working-level proficiency in Korean.
